HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR EMBROIDERY
Just like with any piece of art, embroidery should be cared for properly to make sure it stays beautiful. Here you’ll find a few tips to help keep your embroidery art looking brand new, as well as some useful information on how to frame your piece correctly. One of the key things to remember when handling embroidery is to always do so with clean, dry hands. If your hands are dirty or sweaty, even though it may not show up straight away, over time the marks will show and will be difficult to remove.
Always be careful when touching the stitches. They are delicate, and using too much force may pull or move them.
To remove dust, use a dry cloth or duster.
When hanging a framed piece of embroidery, it is important to avoid spots that are heavily exposed to sunlight, as this can discolour the fabric and thread over time.
To help prevent mold, never frame a piece of embroidery under glass without spacers, or frame it without glass.
